End of summer...

Lily did a lot of swimming this summer since both grandparents have a pool, and she also loved going to the splash park. We tried getting her back in her little inflatable pool at our house, but in her mind (and understandably so!) it was a step backwards and she just wasn't interested. On our daily walk she always remembers which houses have a pool (that she can see) and now that the weather is getting cooler, when we walk by those same houses she'll say "POOL! POOL!" and wonder why she can't see them anymore (they're closing up). It's sad to see the days of summer end, but we're excited for fall and everything coming up (Lily's 2nd birthday, Daddy's birthday, all the grandparents birthdays and the upcoming arrival of a little baby brother or sister!)

Lily has shown MUCH more of an interest in little babies recently. We visited a friend who just had a baby and he got to lay on Lily's lap. She was mesmerized. Now when she sees or hears a baby she's very interested and will walk right up to take a look. I hope her interest is a good sign that she'll adjust well to her little sibling.

Here are a few pics from the end of Lily's pool days for the summer.

Getting a hug from her cousin. I love this picture - her face is priceless!

Could they be any happier!?
Lily and Grandma Cole

They went into the pool before and after dinner and since cousin E didn't have a second swim diaper, he just used his regular one. It was just hilarious seeing him waddle around with this 25 lb diaper on!
Kick, kick, kick!

Splish Splash and an Oreo

Pure joy at the splash park!

After the splash park and a nice, long nap - Lily enjoyed her first Oreo cookie!

New camera...same sweet subject!

Pop!

New camera time!! We've been anxious to get an additional camera instead of just our point-and-shoot and we finally found the one we want. There are so many times I've taken a picture and wanted that really good, close-up that I know would look great with a better lens.

Well, now we have it! I realize I'm no pro, but with a subject as cute as Lily, we've already taken a gazillion pics that I think have turned out great. :) I'll just have to refrain from posting every single one. I'm sure people don't need to see the same pose with 4 different angles!
Our daughter really does have hair (little wisps in the back!) It's now "long" enough that we've been sticking a single pig tail on the top of her head. It looks so cute and she'll wake up in the morning pointing to her head, wanting us to put in her "ponytail."
Even the flowers look better with the new camera!
Our Lily of the garden kind.
Walking over to Uncle Dave and Aunt Ray Ray's house.
Sitting on their extreme porch swing.
Crossing her legs.
She wanted the garage door "up!"

Lily believes that when it goes up, if she says repeatedly "up, up, up" and makes the motion with her hands that she is indeed responsible for making it go up.
And now back to the old camera. You still give us good pics as well! Lily using the very big spoon to eat her cereal. Amazingly, she was able to get her cereal on the spoon to eat a few.
Fuzzy but cute!

Graduation and Rehearsal Dinner Setting...

Hard to believe that Trevor graduated from high school and will be off to college this fall! Here are a few pictures from the Sycamore 2010 graduation and our dinner at Kenwood Country Club afterwards. We had our rehearsal dinner at Kenwood so it always brings us back to that awesome night and wedding the next day!
