Happy 1st Birthday, Lily!

This little miracle entered our lives one year ago today-

Wow - 1 month, 3 months, 6 months gone by already...how time flies!

~

Our sweet baby girl turns 1 today. I received an email that said "your baby is now a toddler." Wait, what!? I just had her the other day...or so it seems. This past year has been such a blessing. Here are a few pics from her birthday party. More to come...
Good morning to our birthday girl!
She loved looking at the sequins and designs on her shirt.
What little girl doesn't love a tutu!?
~ Happy 1st Birthday Lily pea! Words don't do justice to all the love we have for you. Our lives have been forever changed and our world is so much sweeter with you in it.

Curious George

It's so neat to see the things that interest Lily. Like most babies, she's so curious about everything. I love watching her and just seeing her mind work. She's a little problem solver! She'll take out everything from her box of toys, and then proceed to put everything back in - including the blocks in the right bag. It's amazing to me that she already knows the purpose of some things. For instance, she has some new shoes that she hasn't worn yet - they ended up in her toy box and when she found them, she tried to put them on her feet. Why did she not think they were just a toy? Amazing to me.
~
Sometimes after her bath I'll use a soft bristled comb to brush her peach fuzz. Again, she found it in her toy box and then used it to brush her doll baby's head. Wow! I know everyone is amazed by the development of their children, but it's just awesome to see her grow and learn new things every day.

Daddy's Girl

Love this picture of Lil' and her dad. She loves watching him on the field and seeing him at 1/2 time and during breaks.
~
I'm not sure which she likes more, though - watching all the action on the field or "dancing" when they play the really loud music over the speakers. It's quite funny to watch - in fact, we all imitate her dancing now when we hear the music. It sorta reminds me of the scene from Can't Buy Me Love when everyone starts doing the African dance like Ronald. Lily definitely has the moves...

Lily's Tin Hat

I think because Greg puts things on his head to make Lily laugh, now she does it to crack us up! Her favorite new "hat" is her silver mixing bowl.
I can put things on my head too, dad!

Sideways Video of the Carousel!

Hope you don't get dizzy watching!

Lily at Kings Island Day!

We took Lily to my company day at Kings Island. Although The Beast is our favorite ride there, she was a little too short to go on it this year. She did, however, love the carousel and train...and all the people walking around. She even hung out with dad while I rode Drop Zone and stood at the fence watching me go up, up, up into the air. I can only imagine what must've been going through her mind!?

She especially liked watching the P&G Big Band play and gazing at the fountains that changed colors.

She loved watching herself in the carousel mirror.

She did a good job of holding onto the reins.

Here comes the train!

It was pretty funny - the ride operator wouldn't let Greg hold Lily on his lap...even though the train went about .002 mph. She instructed us that Lily would need her own belt. Alrighty! Greg held his hand behind her head b/c of the hard plastic (there were a few bumpy spots). She loved the ride, and didn't want to get out when it stopped.

She wasn't thrilled about sitting with Pumpkin man (I guess I wouldn't have been either!?) She didn't let her feet touch the grass.

Sorry Lil - we don't need one of these in your room...

Lily + Rufus

So I've mentioned that Lily loves her little stuffed dog (we call him Rufus). She does the cutest thing where she bends all the way over and squeezes the dog and lays her head on him. We'll make the noise, "ahhhhh" and now she makes it too when she does it. It's just so sweet. Usually she'll do it unaided and we'll look over and she'll have her head resting on Rufus.

You have to turn your head to the side to watch part of the video, but then it straightens out!

Need Help Unfolding Some Laundry?

Lily kept pointing at the laundry basket so I plopped her in there where she happily unfolded the clothes and chucked the socks over the side. I pushed her around the floor which she loved and pretended it was her indoor wagon.

Busy unfolding her clothes.

See ya later socks!
