Congratulations Dave & Rachel!

We're so happy with the news that my brother Dave and Rachel are engaged! They are perfect for each other in so many ways. My friend Kelly said it best that if their babies aren't born running, we'll be very surprised. Also, it's neat they got engaged the same weekend we did!

Congratulations to Dave & Rach - we're so happy for you both - and excited that Rachel will be part of the family! Lily is also excited she'll now have an AUNT Rachel! :)

Here are a bunch of random pics of Dave & Rach (and a few of us thrown in there too). Some are from the Cincinnati, Chicago and Boston marathons.

Dave paced the Flying Pig marathon and Rachel WON the 1/2. That's right - won. AMAZING!!

Daddy Makes Funny Sounds!

Lily was making the cutest faces and noises with Greg the other day. He probably took 6 different videos, but as soon as he'd start recording, she'd just stare at the video camera. This video is the best rendition of what he was trying to capture (complete with a huge yawn at the beginning!) I cracked up listening to him make funny noises while trying to get a reaction out of her.

3 Months Old!

As each milestone passes, I find it harder and harder to believe she's getting so big! From sleeping through the night to sitting in her Bumbo, it makes me realize that these moments when she is young are fleeting and so precious. Although the days may get hectic, I try to take things "one at a time" and relish all the little moments. I'm even amazed that she'll be starting rice cereal soon - and then onto solids. It'll be an amazing journey to watch her grow, but I can't help feeling already that I want things to slow down and not fly by too quickly! I just have to remind myself to live in the moment (that sure sounds like an Oprah-ism, doesn't it?!)
Happy 3 months, Lily!
Here are a few more pictures of our little cupcake.

Sitting Pretty

Lily got a Bumbo seat for Valentine's Day from grandma and grandpa Bea! We knew she was ready for it when she kept leaning forward in her chair and trying to sit up more. We only put her in it for 10-15 minutes at a time until she has total control of her neck, but she likes sitting in it while I'm cooking or at the table having dinner. She looks like such a happy and big girl in her chair!
Thanks grandma and grandpa for my big girl chair - I love it!

A whole lotta talkin' going on!

I thought these videos were cute because in one, Lily is talking away (with her finger in her mouth) and the other, cousin Ethan is the one doing the talking. It's funny to think what they'd actually be saying if we could put words to their sounds...

Her Favorite Cuz

We went a little crazy (again) taking pictures of Lily and her cousin Ethan. It's so neat watching them grow up together!

They kept trying to grab each other's fingers. I like to think they were trying to hold hands.

Lily is here wondering, "why do they take pictures of me all the time!?"

Let It Snow!

We spent the week at the Cole house while Momma & Poppa Cole were in St. Thomas (perfect timing!!) and got to spend a lot of quality time with the Cole boys. Monday the boys had school, but then the "white death" visited Cincinnati and they got 4 days off. I don't ever remember getting that many days off in a row! It was fun watching the news and hoping to see Sycamore on the "school closing" ticker. It was awesome to see the boys interact with Lily - and she loved all the attention from her uncles.

Lily Goes to School

We visited dad for lunch the other day and Lil' had a fun time checking out all the things in his classroom. She also got to meet his co-workers who really enjoyed meeting Lily for the first time!

She now loves putting her fingers in her mouth...and sometimes tries to get her whole hand in there too.

We were showing Lily all the places on the map she is going to visit one day. When I was pregnant with Lily (only 14 weeks) she got to go to Greece and Italy. Then when I was 5 months along we went to Japan! I'll never forget the day we climbed part of Mt. Fiji...and everyone said "Gregalina" was a little trooper! She definitely will have the travel bug...and hopefully she gets her dad's memory for history and dates!
