I'll Take Another Root Beer Float, Please!

We spent a nice summer evening visiting the Root Beer Stand and playing at Sharon Woods. Lily even got a taste of the heavenly root beer float! Needless to say, she would've wanted a whole sippy cup full, but just a taste was good for now.

Mmmmmmm...rootbeer floats...

Lily loved that she could sit right up at the counter and see everything going on.

Can we come here more often?

Train going by outside.

Sitting in the "blue seats" from old Riverfront Stadium.

Rootbeer Stand + Sharon Woods = a perfect night!

Time to Lower the Crib

So I know most people have lowered the crib already by Lily's age, but she just rolls from side to side and hasn't sat up in bed yet....until recently when we walked in and there she was...sitting up and just staring at us. She sits up by herself all the time, but usually doesn't get herself to a sitting position in bed. Apparently that's her new thing for now.

Good morning, sunshine!

Much to her dismay, the mobile animals are still just out of reach.

Ok, now get me outta here!

Is it time for my nap yet?

These are a few of my favorite things...

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

(Do I have the song stuck in your head yet!?!?)

Lily loves drinking out of her sippy cup now. That is, until she noticed we had cups sans tops, and she wanted a sip out of ours...which isn't quite as drip proof, but she does pretty well!

I can drink all by myself now, thank you very much.

Even though it's not the Christmas season yet, she loves this book! If you push a button on the front a song plays and the stars twinkle.

She has amazing dexterity with her feet!

New swing at grandma and grandpa's house!

Weeeeee!

Everyone is in on the action.

A few new things:

* she has been "talking" up a storm and saying mamamama and dadadada (although she doesn't know what that means!) and bababa for ball.

* she points at everything she wants (and she knows what she wants!) When we're done with a book, she'll point to the next book she wants us to read. If we pick the wrong one, she'll shake her head and point to a new book.

* she is waving to us and clapping her hands. When we say "bye bye" she'll wave and when we say "yeah!!!" she'll clap.

* drinking out of a sippy cup

* sitting up in bed!

* Lily loves yogurt, any kind of fruit, green beans and peas, soft granola bars, cheese and some of the things we eat - garlic bread, pasta, rice and beans, pizza. We've been trying new foods with her all the time and I don't think there's anything she hasn't liked! And, knock on wood, no allergic reactions to anything either.

* her hair is now long enough for a pig tail. Just kidding! She still is a baldy, but you can see her blond hair coming in. Her eyelashes and eyebrows are blond so you can hardly see them, but they're there!

She loves her books and new swing. I think because she loves the pool so much (or vice versa) she also really enjoys bath time. She doesn't want to get out! She has this duck tub that she'll sit in and splash and play for the longest time. When I take her out she points back to the tub, but her hands and feet are prunes so that's when I know she's had enough! After all, there's always bath time tomorrow...

Lily and the John Deere

Lily cut the grass! Well, sorta. She wasn't 100% thrilled by the noise of the tractor, but she enjoyed hanging out with grandpa! I love her little feet crossed.

Lily Having Fun

She did this to her daddy's head for probably 10 minutes before I decided to get out the camera. Where does she come up with these games?! Luckily, Greg thought it was funny too. ;)

First Female...

Football Player? Here's to daddy dreaming...

Talking To Her Toys

Lily loves playing with her toys and can sit and play for quite a while before she gets bored or starts looking for us. Here's a cute video of her "talking" to her toys.

And here's another video of Lily playing nicely with Peyton...until she doesn't get what she wants. We are going to have to teach her about sharing!

Fare Thee Well, Beach!

Last day at the beach (and last posting of beach pictures!)

This is how we'd spend our mornings.

Can you tell which one is ours? Hint: there's a green turtle raft sticking out the back.

At the other end of our complex, they had a big enclosure where they actually had huge, live iguanas. This is as close as we allowed Lily to get.

Lily in the dunes.

My sweetheart.

Lily pea on a lily pad.

This is when she was "kicking" dad and trying to scare him and then giggling up a storm.

What was life like before her??

See you next summer!
