We've been doing so many fun things with Lily that it's hard to keep up on the posts! Greg is off for spring break this week so I took off too! It's been so fun spending time together and although Lily is a little under the weather (we took her to the doc this am and she has an ear infection), she didn't let that get in the way of her walking solo tonight for the first time! She's been walking between us and from couch to ottoman etc. but hadn't taken a bunch of steps unassisted up 'til now.
It was a funny circumstance, too - I was reading through the paper and glanced up to see her stand up and walk over to Boomer's "bed" (his big doggie pillow) saying "uh oh, uh oh" while pointing. I looked over to see if Boomer was there; he wasn't. But, her pink blanket had fallen off the couch and onto the pillow. I yelled in to Greg that she had just walked on over on her own and was just standing there! We were both clapping and telling her "good girl!" She probably thought we were nuts. Her walking just that short distance to Boomer's bed must've given her the boost of confidence she needed to then do laps around the dining room table and check out all the new things within a new arm's reach.
I know a lot of other little ones start walking earlier than 17 months, but Lily is doing great on her own (sweet) time! We know she's following her own schedule and we couldn't be prouder of her. And she looks like the cutest little peanut toddling all over!
I captured a few videos her first night of solo walking. Of course 2 of the best videos won't load, but the 3rd one will. It's still cute! Hope you don't get as dizzy watching as I did!
