Love and Marriage...

This isn't really a blog about love and marriage - but that's what we always call the fountain in Grant Park based on the beginning credits of the Married with Children show. Pictures of that below...

Anyway, back to the adventures in Chicago! The wedding was on a Friday so we stayed the weekend with the Hellyer's and took the train into Chicago on Saturday and drove downtown again on Sunday. On Saturday while we waited for the train into the city, we happened to be a block from a really fun parade so the kids enjoyed watching all the people marching by and playing music. When we got into town, we headed to the Taste of Chicago and walked all around the city.

A funny highlight occurred when (after a full day in the city) we realized the train left downtown at 4:30 but then not again until 6:30. We intended to take the 4:30 train back to our hotel, but totally lost track of time until it was about 4:15. We were a pretty good distance away from the train station, but we gave it a go and ran from Grant Park and huffed it uptown (in the rain at that point). We ended up missing the train in the end but had some good laughs as we were running with 2 kids and 2 strollers. I'm sure Peyton and Lily enjoyed the ride. It all worked out since we just got dinner and took our time until the 6:30 train back. The kids did so amazingly well (after having been out the whole day - and only taking brief naps in the stroller). We even took them to the hotel pool when we got back. Kids are troopers!!

The view is great from up here!

I can hold the umbrella too, ya know.

"Hey Lily, how 'bout we ditch our parents and take a drive..."

"Ok, if you don't want to drive, I'll make a go of it..."
