Our Good Luck Charm

All decked out in her Reds attire...

Well, Lily has now been to two Reds games...and they won both times! I think we need to bring her with us next time we buy a lottery ticket.

Penny and Andy came in town from Chicago to visit. Before the Reds game we went to Palomino's for drinks and appetizers and everything there was loud and busy so there was a lot to keep Lil' entertained. We're used to sitting in peanut heaven, but Andy got 6th row tickets off Ebay, so it was fun being so close to the field! We had to pay a little more attention to what was going on b/c there were a few foul balls near us. While Andy was hoping the Cubs would win in extra winnings, it was Lily's good luck charm that brought victory to the Redlegs.

We're going to have to take Lily to a lot more games so the Reds do well this season!

Say Hello, Wave Goodbye...

Well, I've been without a laptop for about a week so I have no new pictures to post right now (I've been taking them - just haven't been able to load them!) I figured I'd still post about some of the fun things Lily has been doing recently. Her new "trick" is to wave at us when we wave to her. I love when babies do this - she wiggles her fingers in a wave but does it in her direction so she can see her fingers moving. She used to do it when we waved to her, now she's waving at all kinds of things she sees.

I'm hoping her next big milestone will be sitting up on her own. She's really close - but not quite there yet. She likes being propped up and of course loves her Bumbo, but she'll get the hang of it soon enough. I'm sure in a few months I'll be wishing she'd slow down a bit - be careful what I wish for I guess!

This past week has been busy - the library, visiting the grandparents, going to the park, hitting the zoo with daddy (and mommy) this time!, and Lily was the subject of a mini-photo shoot by our friend Courtney. I can't wait to see the pictures!

We also took Lily to visit my mom yesterday because she's leaving today for Scotland and England for 3 weeks. While there we made some new food for Lily to try out so I'm excited to see how she likes it. Many prayers for a safe and enjoyable trip. We're going to miss you! Godspeed.

Splish Splash!

We brought out Lily's pool for the first time this summer. We gave it 2 attempts - the first time didn't go quite as well because the water wasn't warm enough (even though we had it warming in the sun all day!) The second time we added 1/2 hose water and 1/2 warm water from inside. Much, much better!

Once she got used to it, she thought she was just taking a bath because she was kicking and splashing like she normally does. Here are some pics of our little water baby!

Pool Attempt #1
Perfectly content sitting on daddy's lap. What is that big circle thing of water below me?!
Really not too sure about this guys...
I do like my rubber ducky - that's helping things a little bit.

I think I've had just about enough in here. Isn't 1 bath enough for a day?
Pool Attempt #2
Our little ham bone always smiles for the camera. She must've forgotten the pool from the other day because she's ready to go in again!
Mom, really, do we have to go through this again!?

Ok, it's not too bad. Now that I have toys in here and the water is warm, I'm doing OK.
Ok, you got me - I like my pool!

My Dad is a Comedian

I love her little giggle. You can just make funny faces and she'll think it's the funniest thing she's ever seen. Nothing cheers us up more than hearing our sweet baby girl laugh!

Lily's Busy Day

Lily and Dad came to watch my soccer game on Saturday and just chilled on a blanket in the grass. It was so cute because I'd look over while I was on the field and just see her little feet kicking in the air.

Then later that day Rachel planned a 30th bday party for Dave and invited a bunch of friends over. Lily was quite the party animal and stayed until about 10:15. She was enthralled with watching cornhole and the other baby boy in attendance. Granted, we only had to walk next door to put her to sleep, but she was a trooper!

More Memorial Day Photos!

Lily with the bear. Apparently all the babies get their picture taken with this bear!

Why is there a football in the croquet game?

Memorial Day!

What a great Memorial Day weekend! After a morning of ML playing soccer and Greg coaching lacrosse, we headed out to our friend's lakehouse for the weekend. This is our 4th or 5th year going and it's such a relaxing time. It's only about an hour away, but it really feels like a vacation! This year was a bit different because 4 of the couples had babies - so we knew it was going to be an adventure.

The babies did really great, especially considering we had 4 pack-n-plays in 1 room. Yes, you read that right - 4 babies sleeping in one room! During the day they napped in shifts which worked well, then at night we put them down one by one...and they all went to sleep. Amazing. We were sitting outside by the fire and around midnight one of the babies woke up...which woke all 4 up. So all 4 moms were inside rocking their respective child back to sleep. It was a riot! They all went to sleep within 10 minutes and slept the rest of the night. Not bad! We had all said that we were in it together and no matter what happened, we'd survive. It went so much better than what we expected.

Lily even got to go on her first boat ride which she LOVED. She had so much fun giggling and playing with the other little ones.

There are a bunch of pictures from the weekend, so I may do a couple blog entries so it's not just one huge post!

Justin giving us words of wisdom from his cigar aficionado magazine.

We had a cornhole tournament and I came in third - so I won my money back! I was quite happy as I came in just behind Mrs. Hellyer who is the cornhole queen.

Such a happy baby.

The whole gang (minus the photographer, Steve, Joey, Stacy and Justin). So, really just a partial picture of the gang. :)

Peyton not too sure about the hammock.

Can't really tell it from this picture, but Morgan is in a life vest swimming out to the kayak.

Evan and Carter hanging out.

Lily loving the outdoors. She looks quite comfortable in the chair in a chair!

Setting up our wine tasting. Everyone brought a bottle or 2 to taste - there was even homemade wine in the mix!
