Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving pictures...but it's almost Christmas? I know, I know...one of these days I'll catch up on the posts.

The fellas up bright and early for the Thanksgiving Day Race. Uncle Ken, Brandon, Greg and Rob.

Lily getting some potassium in before her run.

My friend Alicia and I did the Gobble Gobble 5K (much closer to home and a little more baby and dog friendly!)

All bundled up.

Wahoooooooo!

We spent the afternoon with the Cole fam. Great grandma Gigi and Grandpa Ray came up from Virginia to visit! It was so sweet - Lily rested her head on Gigi's shoulder right when she picked her up.

Gigi, Lily, Uncle Trevor, cousin Ethan and grandma!
Cutie.

Hunter and Boomer

Great grandpa Ray!

Don't have a lot of pictures from later in the day, but we went over to the Bea side for Thanksgiving dinner! What a busy but great day!

Balluminaria

We took Lily down to Balluminaria where a dozen or so hot-air balloons are set up around Eden Park. Once it gets dusk they light them up and it's a beautiful site.

Eating a snack on the drive down.

Took a shuttle from the Greyhound lot to Eden Park. Lily's first trip on the big cheese.

What are these awkwardly high pleather seats all about?

The first balloon being inflated.

What night on the town would not be complete without a trip to Skyline?

Water out of the kiddie cup.

Playdate!

Friends of mine from St. Gabriel grade school days stopped over with their babies for a little play date.

Chloe and Lily.

Noah representing the male population that afternoon.
Anna showing the little ones how it's done.

If you think this toy box is fun, just wait 'til you get to play in the fridge box one day!

Fall Leaves and Reading to Herself

I like sitting in front of the leaves MUCH better than when you placed me IN the leaves!

Hmmmm...what to do with this leaf...

Do you want it?

Shall I put it on my head?

I think I'll give it a taste instead.

After playing in the leaves, here I am just drinking my milk and reading my books...

Sometimes she tries to stick her finger in her mouth as she's drinking...
It's funny that she now has particular books she likes us to read to her. If we start one of the books that she's not crazy about, she'll try to close it and point to a different one.
The Caterpillar classic...

2 at a time...

...he was a beautiful butterfly! (one advantage of reading books over and over and over again...you can recite the words just by seeing the picture!)

It's even more fun facing backwards in the chair!

Favorite Pastime

Lily loves her books. She loves when we read them to her and even when she's on her own and playing with her toys, she'll pull out the books and flip through them. When I put her down for a nap she'll point to her books (not sure if this is a ploy to delay the nap or what!?) and she screeches in delight when we start reading to her. Hopefully she'll always love to read!

And here are a few pictures of our little angel.

C'mon...hand over the camera! That's what I really want here!

Cottage Cheese, No and Fake Cry

Lily now will feed herself if we hand her the spoon with food on it. But, only if she's in the mood as you'll see in the video! I did get her shaking her head no and faking a cry. Little one knows what she wants! If she doesn't want to do something (eat anymore, get out of the bath) - we get the head shake. We're trying to teach her to shake her head yes, but I think that's a harder one to master!
