Hangin' Out

It was so cute - I walked in the room and Lily and Greg were staring at each other through the beach ball. I couldn't get the picture quick enough, but her forehead was pressed into the ball and she was just staring...mesmerized.

Earlier that day some of my friends from high school came over with their little ones. It was great catching up and the kids all had so much fun together.
Toys and also Bed Bath and Beyond 20% off coupons are fun to play with and put in my mouth! (BBB must spend a mint printing gabillions of coupons that flood our mailbox).

Hey there, little fella!

Please note my white girly dress everyone!

We get stopped about 14 times every grocery shopping trip with people waving, cooing and smiling at Lily. I'm sure every other mother with a little one gets the same reaction! It happens maybe every other trip, but someone inevitably thinks she is a he! I wonder if I need to put more bows on Lily's head (I can't say hair b/c she doesn't really have any!) Lily doesn't sport the bow too often, but she does have pink, purple and other girly things on quite a bit. Today at the grocery store she had on pink socks, purple pants, a cream sweater and a little pink doll in her hand. She got two, "hi there, little fella" comments! Of course she just gives everyone her gummy little smile and doesn't feel the least bit offended.

Until Lily grows hair I may have to look into a baby girl toupee (this is one of my favorite SNL commercials of all time!) Well, that and Taco Town...but I digress... Anyway, wouldn't you know, I stumbled upon Baby Bangs http://www.babybangshairband.com/ "for the girl who has everying - except hair!" What a riot. On the topic of ridiculous baby items, I've also seen high heels for babies (Heelarious - her first high heels). I have to admit, they're pretty darn cute, but only if I had money to burn. Besides, hopefully Lily will prefer soccer cleats over heels...

Lily Loves to Sleep

Lily is definitely a sleeper and takes after her mom. Right now she usually takes 2, 2 hour naps (sometimes the naps last for 3-4 hours depending on the day) and sleeps 12 hours at night (8-8). She will most definitely let you know when she's tired or ready for a nap!

Lily up after her morning nap.

I hope she always wakes up this happy!

Summer Parties

We went to a lot of fun gatherings and hosted a bunch of cook-outs this summer. Here are a bunch of pictures from the summer!
Lily playing at Carter's party.

Of course she wants what Carter is holding!

Evan in a basket!

Peyton getting in too.

How is it that Lily always surrounds herself with the toys!?

Running partners from pre-pregnancy days!

Another fun trip to the zoo.

Gorillas and monkeys are my favorite! Lily loves the elephants.

Cousin Ethan standing! Lily and I went to Babies & Beverages party at Aunt Meghan's house!

Once again - Lily and the toys.

Toy explosion!

Daddy would be proud of Lily and her lacrosse stick.
Lily and P-Diddy hanging out.

Lily...you need to learn to share!

Since Lily was in there, I want to try it too!

Giddyup!

We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon at River Downs and Lily LOVED seeing all the horses. She got to pet one and the owner even let her sit in the saddle. She did so great! She even helped mom and dad pick out some winners.

Of course we had to bet on the jockey with the pink silk!

Getting up close with the horse.

She was so calm and loved petting the horse.

Whoooaaaaa!

My money is on that cute little jockey!

A natural.

Waiting for the horses.

She wanted to be right up on the fence.

Such beautiful animals.

A great day at the races!

A Blessed Day

My brother and his fiance Rachel are getting married today!! We couldn't be happier for both of them. They are truly "two peas in a pod" and God definitely brought them together.

It's hard to believe that "Davey Baby" is getting married. It doesn't seem like that long ago we were "kicking the ball" on the driveway, walking to the candy store, giggling with our cousins in sleeping bags on a visit, playing whiffle ball at the park - and a million other memories from growing up.

I love my little bro and I love his soon-to-be wife! I am excited to see what's in store for them - and more than proud to call Rachel my sister-in-law. Greg and I both feel so lucky that soon she'll move in and we'll have the most awesome new neighbor. I never would've guessed growing up that I'd eventually live not a few states away, or even 20 minutes away - but right next to Dave. What are the odds!?

Lily is excited to wear her new dress and to call her Aunt Rachel officially (even though we have been for months!) The weather will be absolutely gorgeous today and tomorrow and Rachel is going to make a stunning bride and Dave one dapper groom.

Life is good.

And now abide faith, hope, and love, these three, but the greatest is love. --1 Corinthians 13:13

Helping Out

Lily always wants to be in on whatever we're doing, so the other night when Greg was sorting through all his shirts and deciding which ones to donate, she happily sat there and held onto the hangers (plastic!) and observed the work. She can make the most mundane chores more fun!
